Our Vision
GreenTREEco concentrates its efforts on environmental protection by saving a variety of the world's ecologically important and most threatened ecosystems, thereby helping save many endangered species in the process.
Planting saplings in temperate climates has positive impacts on the environment generally speaking, although it is much more beneficial to plant and save trees within tropical climates.
These are troubling times for our planet both politically and environmentally. Much of the world's attention is on the food shortage outside of the western world.
Not only do we preserve mature rainforests, but GreenTREEco also plant trees that can be ethically cultivated and are of real benefit to the local communities, who live within our reserves in developing countries. We plant trees that can be utilised without being destroyed; such as Rubber Trees, Fruit Trees and Nut Trees.
Forests affect climate in three different ways:
- They absorb the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and help to keep the planet cool.
- They evaporate water to the atmosphere and increase cloudiness, which also helps keep the planet cool.
- They are dark and absorb a lot of sunlight, warming the Earth.
Climate change mitigation strategies that promote planting trees have taken only the first effect into account.
Protection and regeneration of the rainforests is the vision of GreenTREEco.
